I am delighted to share with you this new Valentine sock design to add some joy to your colorwork sock drawer. These Love-ly Heart socks use both horizontal and vertical stripes to accentuate the hearts, making the pattern easy to knit and remember, with just two colors and no long floats.

Choose some sock yarn in 3 of your favorite colours, (not necessarily red and pink). Knit each sock in alternative colours if desired too to help avoid second sock syndrome.
Knit from the top down, these socks have a short row heel (video tutorial included) and a fun to knit stranded colorwork hearts and stripes pattern in 3 different stitch count sizes. This colorwork section is knit using only two colors and is an easy to memorize, repeating pattern throughout the leg and foot of the socks. There are 3 different colorwork charts included in alternative colors for use to choose from.

To fit (foot circumference): 16 – 18.5 (20 –22.75, 23 – 25 ) cm / 7 (8 ½, 9 ½ ) inches.

MATERIALS
Yarn - Fingering weight sock yarn
Filcolana Arwetta Classic (80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon), 230 yds (210 m) per 50g.

Any fingering weight sock yarn can be used for this pattern as long as you obtain the same gaug, for example Knit Picks Stroll, Lang Yarns Jawoll, Cascade Yarns Heritage, Drops Fabel. Use whatever sock yarn you have available to you.

Needles
For ribbing and stockinette: 2.25mm (US 1)
For colourwork: 2.5mm (US 1.5)

Gauge
34 sts x 42 rnds = 10cm (4 inches) for ribbing and stockinette.
34 sts x 36 rnds = 10cm (4 inches) for colourwork.
