No longer satisfied with hiding the iconic I´m Batty for Halloween design in our shoes, I felt it time we have a hat to help keep us warm during Halloween, especially for any trick or treat adventures. 

I´m Batty for Halloween Hat is a fun to knit, hat that can be worked in any two contrasting colours of your choice. With this pattern you can make a cozy and warm beanie with a long folded brim that will help keep your ears warm on cold, spooky days. 

Knit from the bottom up and worked in the round, the brim of this beanie is started in plain, stockinette stitch. The main part of the hat features a simple, stranded colourwork pattern, which ends before the hat decreases. The hat is worked with magic loop method or dpns for the decrease stitches at the top of the beanie and then the remaining stitches are sewn together. This pattern includes three sizes, from small to large adult size.

Fits head circumference: 47 – 51 (54 –57.5 , 62 – 66) cm / 18 ½  – 20  (21 ½  – 23 ½ , 24 ½ – 26 ) inches.
Finished hat size: 46.25 (54, 61) cm / 18 ( 21 ¼ , 24) inches

Approx. 0 - 10% negative ease recommended
Sample shown is knit in size 2 for head circumference 55 cm (22 inches) 

MATERIALS 
Yarn – Sport weight
MC: Schoppel-Wolle Edition 3 (100% wool), 150 metres (164 yards) per 50g
CC: Filcolana Pernilla 3ply worsted spun yarn (100% Peruvian Highland Wool), 175 m (191 yds) per 50g
Any sport/light DK weight yarn can be used for this pattern as long as you obtain the same gauge. 

MC: Warm Botanical Garden. 52 (55, 65) g, 156 (165, 195) m / 170 (180, 213) yds.
CC: Black. 18 (20 25) g, 63 (70, 87.5) m / 69 (76, 96) yds.

Needles
For stockinette: 3mm (US 2.5) 40 cm (16 inch) circular needle. Magic Loop method or DPNs for decreasing section.
For colourwork: 3.35mm (US 3) 40 cm (16 inch) circular needle.

Gauge (after blocking)
24 x sts x 30 rnds = 10cm (4 inches) for stockinette.
24 x sts x 26 rnds = 10cm (4 inches) for colourwork.
