I wanted to recreate this magic and wonder with a pair of socks to help keep our feet warm on forest walks this Autumn. Carrying on with my long-term love of mushrooms (originating with the Magic Toadstool socks), I thought it would be fun for us to knit socks decorated in toadstools from cuff to toe with these Magical Mycelium socks.
Knit from the top down with a twisted rib cuff, these socks have a `no wrap` short row heel and a stranded colourwork toadstool pattern that uses 3 colours and repeats and runs throughout the leg and foot. The toe is finished by grafting stitches together. This pattern uses the magic loop circular needle method (but can be knit with 23cm (9 inch) circulars or DPNs).

Sizing
1 (2, 3, 4)
To fit (foot circumference): 18 - 19.5 (19.5 – 21, 22.5 – 24, 23.5 – 25) cm / 7 ¾ (8 ½, 9 ½, 10) inches
Finished circumference: 17.5 (19, 22, 23) cm / 7 (7 ¾, 8 ¾, 9 ¼) inches
Recommended ease: Approximately 2 cm (¾ inch) of negative ease.
