Although I was not there for cherry blossom season, I was moved to recreate it with this pair of socks using some hand-dyed yarn I had purchased as a souvenir.

Knit from the top down, these socks have an eye of partridge heel flap and gusset and a colourwork section of cherry blossom trees on the leg. This pattern uses the magic loop circular needle method, but can be knit and was test knitted with 23cm (9 inch) circulars and/or DPNs.

Sizing
1 (2, 3)

To fit (foot circumference): 19 - 21 (21.5 –23.5, 25.5 – 27.5) cm / 8 (9, 10 ½) inches
Finished leg circumference for colourwork: 17.5 (21, 24.5) cm / 7 (8, 9 ½) inches
Recommended ease: Approximately 2.5cm (1 inch) of negative ease for colourwork.

MATERIALS
Yarn - Fingering weight sock yarn
MC and CC3: (Vi)laines sock yarn (75% Wool, 25% Nylon/Polyamide), 425m (465 yds) per 100g
CC1: Quickstrick Super Sock Merino (75% Merino Wool, 25% Polyamide), 425m (465 yds) per 100g
CC2: Penny Lane Fingering Lane (100% Superwash Merino), 400 m (425 yds) per 100g.
CC4: Knit Picks Stroll Tweed (65% Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon, 10% Donegal Tweed) 211m (231 yds) per 50g.
**Any fingering weight sock yarn can be used for this sock pattern, as long as you can obtain the same gauge.**

Shown in:
MC: Nettle Soup. Approx 50 (60, 65) g, 212 (255, 276) m / 232 (279, 302) yds
CC1: A Hint of Mint. Cherry Blossoms unfortunately last typically for only one to two weeks and the peak bloom only for a few days! In comparison, we can enjoy our cherry blossom socks all year round and even for many years. With a simple repeating, easy to memorize motif, this chart does have some three colour in one round details but can be left with just the background as the centre colour if preferred, or that detail could also be duplicate stitched. A tutorial for this is also provided.

Sizing
1 (2, 3)

To fit (foot circumference): 19.5 – 21 (21.5 –23.5, 26-28) cm / 8 (9 ½, 10 ¾) inches.
Finished circumference: 17.5 (21, 24.5) cm / 7 (8 ½, 9 ¾) inches.

MATERIALS
Yarn - Fingering weight sock yarn
MC: PRU Yarns Soul (85% Merino Wool Superwash, 15% Nylon), 400m (437 yds) per 100g
CC1: Amirisu Trek (100% Wool), 350m (383 yds) per 100g
CC2: Tricot & Stitch Extrafine Fingering (85% Superwash Merino Wool, 15% Nylon) 400m (437 yds) per 100g

**Any fingering weight sock yarn can be used for this pattern as long as you obtain the same gauge.
